Hike, backpack and camp In Wisconsin’s beautiful Kettle Moraine State Forest along the Ice Age Trail. All campsites are shared during this event. This event can be backpacked over two to three days, or individually day hiked on any of the days. The hikes range from 5 to 10 miles per day.

Backpackers start the event with a 3 mile hike on Friday evening and spend Friday night at Greenbush Group Camp Ground. There is a 5 mile hike from Greenbush to Parnell Tower, or 10 mile hike from Greenbush to Long Lake Recreation Area Saturday. Campsites are provided at Long Lake Recreation Area or Greenbush Group Camp on Saturday night and participants begin the final 10 mile hike from Long Lake Recreation Area to Mauthe Lake State Park on Sunday. Throughout the event, Badger Trails provides periodic checkpoints with water stations, manned road crossings and shuttle services. Although we encourage participants to take part in the entire event, we also accommodate those who are interested in camping and hiking part of the trail or simply coming to day hike. The entire hike is a moderately difficult trail approximately 24 miles in length, and is a perfect event for those that want to practice or teach backpacking skills. If you run into any issues on the trail during your hike, Badger Trails will be there to assist you and help you get back to your campsite. Camping reservations are limited for this event and the event sells out early. Make your reservations early so ensure your participation at this years event.

Self Guided Hike option - Can't attend the official hike date? We will send you a patch and trail map in the mail so you can hike the trails on your own.
