2026 Devil's Lake Hike
The Devil's Lake Anniversary hike is an organized weekend campout held each year in early fall at Devil's Lake State Park near Baraboo, Wisconsin. Badger Trails reserves campsites in the park for all groups that register for the event. All campsites are shared during this event. Weather and trail conditions permitting, the Saturday hike will include the Merrimac and part of the Devil's Lake Ice Age Trail Segments.
This event provides individuals and family groups, scouting groups and youth groups with the opportunity to hike the beautiful trails in Devil's Lake State Park; meet youths from other parts of the upper Midwest--including Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin; and learn how the unique landforms within the park were formed.
- Self Guided Hike option - Can't attend the official hike date? We will send you a patch and trail map in the mail so you can hike the trails on your own. Please contact the WI DNR to find out about any trail closures, restrictions and hunting seasons prior to planning your self guided hike.
Badger Trails provides the following:
- Campsite(s)
- Commemorative patches
- Shuttle to the start of the hikes
- Safety Checkpoints with water refill stations
